PRAY THE DEVIL BACK TO HELL chronicles the remarkable story of the courageous Liberian women who came together to end a bloody civil war and bring peace to their shattered country.

Thousands of women — ordinary mothers, grandmothers, aunts and daughters, both Christian and Muslim — came together to pray for peace and then staged a silent protest outside of the Presidential Palace. Armed only with white T-shirts and the courage of their convictions, they demanded a resolution to the country’s civil war. Their actions were a critical element in bringing about an agreement during the stalled peace talks.

A story of sacrifice, unity and transcendence, PRAY THE DEVIL BACK TO HELL honors the strength and perseverance of the women of Liberia. Inspiring, uplifting, and most of all motivating, it is a compelling testimony of how grassroots activism can alter the history of nations. (Click here for the Trailer).

The next Reel Insider screening will be a preview of THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS, starring Ewan McGregor, George Clooney, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey  on November 4th.  A film critic will hold a discussion after the film.  The final date of the season will be announced shortly.

ABOUT THE REEL INSIDER SERIES:

The Reel Insider series allows audiences to catch the newest in independent, foreign and documentary film, 5 times a season (held over 3 months), with a discussion with an established critic and, often, film talent.  Mingle before the screening with fellow film enthusiasts at a complimentary wine and beer reception at 7:00 PM.  Screenings begin at 7:30 PM.  The announcement of films and their dates is made 3-6 weeks in advance of each event.
